Vanessa & Don’s Wedding at The Green, Cornwall

Vanessa and Don were married at The Green Cornwall, a beautiful countryside wedding venue near Liskeard that perfectly suits couples looking for a relaxed, natural and scenic setting for their wedding day.

Surrounded by rolling countryside and peaceful woodland, The Green Cornwall offers the kind of atmosphere where weddings feel effortless. There’s space to breathe, beautiful light throughout the day, and endless little pockets around the grounds that are perfect for relaxed wedding photography.

Vanessa and Don chose to spend their entire wedding day at the venue, which always helps create a calm flow to the day. With everything taking place in one location, the morning preparations started slowly and naturally with hair and makeup underway early in the bridal suite.

The morning was filled with that familiar mix of excitement and anticipation. Bridesmaids gathered around, dresses hung neatly nearby, and the buzz of a wedding morning gradually built as the ceremony time approached.

Meanwhile, Don spent the morning getting ready with his groomsmen at the venue. A few relaxed moments together before the ceremony, adjusting jackets, sharing a few laughs and soaking in the atmosphere before the day officially began.

A Relaxed Ceremony at The Green Cornwall

Guests gathered for the ceremony at The Green Cornwall in the early afternoon, surrounded by the peaceful Cornish countryside. Vanessa made her entrance at 1:30pm and the ceremony itself was simple, heartfelt and full of genuine emotion.

It’s always those authentic moments that make weddings so special — the smiles, the nerves, the quiet looks between a couple as everything suddenly becomes real.

After the ceremony, guests moved outside to enjoy the drinks reception while the celebrations began in full.

Drinks Reception and Portraits

The grounds at The Green Cornwall wedding venue offer a perfect backdrop for relaxed drinks receptions. Guests were able to mingle, enjoy the surroundings and congratulate the newly married couple while the atmosphere settled into celebration mode.

During this time, we captured some relaxed portraits of Vanessa and Don around the venue. Nothing overly staged or posed — just natural moments together in the beautiful Cornish landscape.

This approach to photography always works well at venues like The Green Cornwall, where the setting naturally lends itself to storytelling and documentary-style wedding photography.

Family photographs followed shortly afterwards, keeping things simple so everyone could get back to enjoying the afternoon.

Dinner, Speeches and Evening Celebrations

Later in the afternoon guests sat down for dinner while the celebrations continued inside the venue. Speeches followed between the main course and dessert, bringing plenty of laughter, a few emotional moments and the kind of stories that only close friends and family can tell.

As the evening arrived, the celebrations moved into the next chapter of the day.

Vanessa and Don cut their cake before heading straight into their first dance to “You” by Miley Cyrus, officially opening the dance floor for the night ahead.

With friends, family and great music filling the room, the evening celebrations carried on late into the night — exactly how a wedding at The Green Cornwall should end.

Wedding Photography at The Green Cornwall

The Green is one of those venues that naturally lends itself to relaxed documentary wedding photography. The surroundings, the light and the layout of the venue all allow the day to unfold naturally without feeling rushed or overly structured.

Vanessa and Don’s wedding was the perfect example of how a wedding day can feel when couples focus on spending time with the people who matter most while letting the story of the day happen organically.
