There are some wedding days that just feel special from the moment you arrive. Rebecca and Julian’s celebration at Manoir Beaulieu in the French countryside was exactly that — relaxed, stylish, and full of the kind of moments that make documentary photography such a joy.
Manoir Beaulieu is the sort of venue that wedding photographers quietly dream about. A beautiful French chateau surrounded by countryside, hidden gardens, stone archways and open courtyards, all soaked in that soft southern European light that seems to make everything look a little bit magical. It’s the kind of place where every corner feels like a photograph waiting to happen.
Rebecca spent the morning getting ready in the house with her bridesmaids and family. The atmosphere was calm and full of laughter — the sort of morning where everyone is excited but also completely soaking it all in. One of the loveliest moments came when Rebecca shared a first look with her dad, a moment that was emotional, genuine and exactly the sort of thing that reminds you what these days are really about.
Meanwhile Julian and his groomsmen arrived looking sharp and ready for the day ahead. With everything taking place on the same estate, the whole wedding had a wonderfully relaxed feel — no rushing around, no stress, just friends and family slowly gathering in the courtyard as the excitement built.
Their ceremony took place in the beautiful grounds of Manoir Beaulieu, surrounded by the people who matter most to them. A violinist played as Rebecca made her entrance, adding an incredible atmosphere to the moment. There’s something about live music at a wedding ceremony that just elevates everything — it gives the whole moment a cinematic feel.
After the ceremony the celebrations flowed straight into the courtyard where guests gathered for drinks, laughter and plenty of hugs. One of the highlights was the confetti moment, which created absolute chaos in the best possible way — exactly how confetti should be.
Rebecca and Julian had planned their day in a way that meant there was plenty of time to simply enjoy being with their guests. Friends chatted over drinks, the champagne tower was poured, and the courtyard buzzed with that perfect mix of celebration and sunshine.
Of course we stole Rebecca and Julian away for a few portraits around the grounds — because when you’re in a place like Manoir Beaulieu it would almost be rude not to. From the elegant stone steps at the front of the house to the hidden corners of the gardens and the beautiful archways of the barn, every backdrop added something unique to their photographs.
Family photographs were taken in some of the most beautiful spots around the estate, keeping things relaxed and natural so everyone could get back to enjoying the day quickly. One of the most special parts for Rebecca was capturing some moments with her mum — both candid and portrait style — something that meant a lot to her.
As the evening approached, everyone gathered together for dinner, speeches and plenty of stories that had the whole room laughing. It’s always one of my favourite parts of a wedding — when the day slows down slightly and you get those genuine reactions from everyone listening.
Later, the celebrations moved into the barn where the dance floor quickly filled. The atmosphere was exactly what you hope for from a destination wedding — friends, family, music and the kind of party where nobody really wants the night to end.
There were so many brilliant little touches throughout the day, including a fun tribute to Rebecca and Julian’s dog, who made a surprise appearance in spirit thanks to some brilliant cut-out props that quickly became the life of the party.
Rebecca and Julian created a wedding that felt completely true to them — relaxed, full of personality and surrounded by the people they love most. Destination weddings always have a slightly different energy, and this one captured everything that makes them so special.
Manoir Beaulieu provided the most incredible backdrop for it all, and it was an absolute privilege to document a day filled with so much joy, laughter and genuine moments.
Rebecca and Julian — thank you for trusting me to capture it. What a celebration.
