Nancy & Josh – A Wedding Full of Laughter at Donington Park Farmhouse


Right from the first time I met Nancy and Josh for a wander around Donington Park Farmhouse, I had a good feeling about their wedding. It wasn’t just a chance to look around the venue (which is an absolute gem), it was a lovely way to get to know them a bit better. Straight away, it was clear they were all about their people. Their top priority? Making sure the day was properly documented—but more than anything, they wanted their time with family and friends to be captured as naturally and honestly as possible.


Let’s Talk About the Venue


If you’ve never been to Donington Park Farmhouse, you’re in for a treat. It’s tucked away in the Derbyshire countryside and full of rustic character. The barns are gorgeous—think original beams, cosy corners, and even the old pig sties turned into quirky dining spaces. It’s got this really relaxed, unpretentious charm to it that makes it perfect for couples who want something a bit different and a bit more them. There’s a gorgeous little courtyard for guests to spill out into, and it really does feel like your own private space for the day.


The Ceremony Challenge


Now, the ceremony took place in the Threshing Barn—beautiful and full of atmosphere, but with one little snag... it doesn’t have any windows. As someone who normally thrives on natural light, this gave me a bit of a challenge. But honestly, I quite enjoyed it! It was a good chance to think on my feet and try a few things I wouldn’t usually do. It reminded me that sometimes stepping outside your usual routine is the best way to keep things fresh. And the results? Some really rich, moody photos that captured the emotion of the moment perfectly.


Laughter From Start to Finish


From the morning preparations to the final cheers on the dance floor, the whole day was just non-stop joy. Nancy and Josh were an absolute delight—so chilled, full of laughs, and clearly made for each other. It was one of those weddings where everything just clicks. The vibe, the people, the moments—it all came together so naturally, and I found myself smiling behind the camera all day long.


A Proper Cracker of a Day


All in, it was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I do this job. Nancy and Josh were brilliant, the setting was stunning, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magic. A huge thank you to them both for having me along for the ride—it was a pleasure from beginning to end.
